This bride was actually a friend of ours which always adds a little bit of additional pressure to make sure the wedding photos are perfect. She chose a beautiful Bay Area wedding venue to have her ceremony and reception in Lodi California. This out-of-the-way place ended up being a fantastic venue with lots of room and a gorgeous setting. Especially for wedding photography with lots of open spaces and picturesque settings. The photo above was taken in the getting ready room for the bride. We were able to be in this room and help record her Bridal prep and captured some great moments with her mom.
When I saw this window I knew I had to pose the bride in front of it. It is a perfect way to highlight the back of the wedding dress. The other nice thing about a pose like this is that you also get to see the back of the bride's hair. The best San Francisco Bay Area wedding photographers need to understand that you absolutely have to show and record every aspect of the bride's attire on her big day. This includes jewelry, makeup, hairdo, and of course the shoes. Failing to show each component of what the bride wore on her big day is unacceptable.
We always make sure to get these photos out of the way and checked off. We certainly don't want to miss anything important and so it's better to take more photos than less. In the photo above we had the added bonus of some light coming into the window which made her dress glow and highlighted the texture which is very important. Backlight always enhances a white wedding dress in a complimentary way. If you are wondering why we have both of her arms out, it's because it adds shapeliness to the dress. You would not see the silhouette of the dress if she had her arms at her side. We want to show off the bride's figure in the best way possible in this photo does it quite well.
