Most of our SF city Hall newlyweds let us know that they would like a large amount of candid images in their final photos. This can be difficult to accomplish sometimes depending upon the couple. The reason? City Hall weddings do not include many of the types of activities that can be found at traditional marriage celebrations. Things like cake cutting, dancing, toasts, and throwing the Bouquet/Garter all provide a wedding photographer with ample opportunities to capture great moments. In the photo above, we encouraged the bride and groom to be playful with each other and then just started shooting. The candid image that resulted says a lot about the couple.
We always do try to create situations that will help give a candid look to our client's SF City Hall wedding pictures. This is accomplished by setting up walking shots or some type of interaction on a bench or even the Grand Staircase. Other possible ways to create candid pictures is to joke around with our newlyweds and get them laughing and then capture that photo. We also have a few suggested interactions which will frequently provide some great memories. We will definitely try our best to make the photos appear as natural as possible.
