Cable Car Wedding Photography

Nothing says San Francisco quite like a cable car photo! Because cable cars have been around for so long we thought it would be appropriate to print the photo below in sepia tone. For those of you unaware, sepia tone is one of the first types of photo printing available back in the early 20th century. Since San Francisco cable cars come from the same era, we think it matches well. Our favorite place to capture good cable car images is at Ghirardelli Square by the turnaround. At this location, the cable cars wait to go into the Turn Style and for a little while they're available to hop on for a wedding photo. In the photo above, we asked the bride and groom to jump on the cable car and lean out to make it look like they were actually riding it. I just think this makes the photo look a little more fun and real. Printing it in sepia tone just adds another dimension to that.

This photo came after a San Francisco City Hall wedding and the couple made the decision to choose our tour package. We provide comfortable transportation and take the couple around the city for a series of photos at various destinations such as the Palace of Fine Arts, the Legion of Honor, and Crissy Field. Most of our brides and grooms also want to get a picture with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background so we spend a lot of time doing that as well. Other locations include Golden Gate Park, Ghirardelli Square, North Beach, and Russian Hill. All of these Famous San Francisco districts provide a great backdrop for wedding photography in the Bay Area. Nothing could be more iconic than a picture on a Cable Car!

The North Beach Hat Shop

We love taking our are couples to North Beach in San Francisco after their City Hall wedding ceremony. One of the great things about North Beach is that it is relatively safe to walk around and there are just the right amount of people in the background. It is not uncommon for us to take our newlyweds around the neighborhood and capture candid photos of them walking and enjoying the scenery. In the photo above our couple walked into a North Beach hat shop. This is a favorite spot we like to take our couples to obtain some fun and memorable photos of them trying on hats and enjoying the store. The owners of this North Beach institution are more than happy to oblige and allow our couples to wander freely as long as they want and also to try on as many hats as they like. On numerous occasions we have offered to tip or otherwise compensate the store owners but they always refuse.

This particular couple really had a great time in the store and were very playful and fun with each other. As I have said numerous times, these types of candid photos are the best and often most popular with our couples. Whenever we can capture are brides and grooms walking around San Francisco doing natural touristy types of things it just makes the photos that much sweeter. We are blessed to be San Francisco wedding photographers with the opportunity to enjoy the city while at the same time capturing wonderful memories for our couples.

Woodline in the Presidio - San Francisco

We enjoy taking our newlywed couples to various destinations around San Francisco for wedding photography. Woodline in the SF presidio has become a favorite and not as well known as others. It is not frequently traveled by many and thus affords the couple some privacy in a woodsy setting. Woodline was created by a series of cut down trees through a narrow corridor in the Presidio and then the artist arranged the tree trunks in a nice pattern to create a gorgeous backdrop for wedding photographers like us! The other advantageous aspect of this photography location is that it is somewhat protected from the wind and fog. Thus, it becomes a viable option when the inevitable inclement San Francisco weather and fog rolls in. We always endeavor to provide our clients with various options when they want to go outdoors in the city for picture taking. You just never know!
